Amer is a physician informatics leader with deep expertise in clinical informatics, population health, healthcare analytics, interoperability, and digital transformation. Throughout his career, he has worked to strengthen how healthcare organizations use data, technology, and information systems to improve care delivery, support better outcomes, and advance health equity.
Most recently, Amer held senior physician executive informatics leadership roles at Adventist Health, Sutter Health, and Northwell Health, where he led enterprise initiatives spanning clinical informatics, population health, artificial intelligence, analytics, and digital transformation. His experience includes supporting Epic implementation and optimization efforts across more than 450 clinics and more than 12,000 providers across multiple healthcare markets.
His work has focused on building and scaling population health management infrastructure, advancing interoperability, strengthening data governance, and deploying analytics and technology solutions that improve quality, support value-based care, and reduce disparities in underserved communities. Amer also serves as adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins University and is an active member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems (AMDIS).
At the Pop Health Learning Center, Amer leads strategy for data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and health information systems, helping the organization build the infrastructure, capabilities, and insights needed to support primary care transformation, population health improvement, and value-based care initiatives across California.
