Hands-on Practice in Addressing Preventative Care Hesitancy: An Interactive Webinar

Want to strengthen your conversations with patients about vaccines? Join the University of California Center for Excellence in Primary Care for an in-depth, skills-based training on the HEAR Technique—a brief, respectful approach to engaging patients who are hesitant about vaccines, cancer screenings, and other preventive care. Participants will practice the technique and learn how to address common patient questions with confidence.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, participations will be able to…

  1. Utilize communication techniques to promote vaccine acceptance
  2. Describe the four steps of the HEAR Technique
  3. Apply the HEAR Technique to address ambivalence and diffuse challenging conversations

This course meets the qualifications for 1.0 contact hour of continuing education credit for nurses as required by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #18090. You must attend the full session in order to qualify for contact hours. Course completion certificates will be awarded upon completion of course evaluations. Documentation must be retained by the Participant for a period of four years after the conclusion of this program.

The UCSF Center for Excellence in Primary Care is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs. The UCSF Center for Excellence in Primary Care maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content. This course meets the qualifications for 1.0 hour of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, Provider #1032866. Any activities within the program that do not have instructional time are not offered for continuing education credit. Course completion certificates will be awarded upon completion of course evaluations. Documentation must be retained by the Participant for a period of four years after the conclusion of this program.

Please note: Because this course is only one hour long, partial credit cannot be granted.
